Desired Outcomes
- Review the relevance of the upper lip and the importance of lip lifting in contemporary facial rejuvenation procedures
- Discuss upper lip aesthetics and indications and contraindications for lip lift procedures
- Compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of the commonly advocated lip lift techniques
- Discuss pre-operative analysis of the lip lift patient and the formulation of an appropriate surgical plan
- Review clinically relevant anatomy important to surgical technique and avoiding complications
- Discuss planning of incisions and surgical technique to minimize scars, optimize outcomes, and to avoid secondary deformities
- Discuss concomitant peri-oral fat grafting and laser skin resurfacing in lip lift procedures
- Review anesthesia considerations in lip lift surgery
- Discuss patient safety issues in lip lift surgery
- Discuss peri-operative care of the lip lift patient
- Discuss the importance of orbicularis oris muscle modification and “SMAS” suspension in lip lift surgery
Description
This course will be a practical, clinically oriented, guide to planning and performing a lip lift. An edited video of the procedure will be shown and the course will include a question and answer period.
